Latest Housing Trends

With spring right around the corner, plus the home market being a sellers market – there will be many homes, new and existing, being bought and sold.  Whether you’re buying a new home, selling your current home, or moving into an existing home – you want your house to be as up to date as it can be, right?  This post is going to pick your brain and give you some ideas of the newest 2017 trends.

That’s right, velvet.  Mixed with the right style of furniture, velvet can add the finishing touch.  This comeback has proven that velvet is a truly timeless material.  Velvet can be used in multiple places in your home, whether it be curtains, couches, pillows, blankets, or even rugs.

2.) Contemporary furniture & designs:

The “modern look”.  You either love it, or hate it.  Hopefully you’ll learn to love it, because it’s predicted to make a huge appearance in the newly built homes this year.  Yes, that means your grandmothers plastic wrapped style couches are out.

3.) Bars:

In the basement, or upstairs – a built-in bar adds a nice feature to your home.  Not only can it come with a vast variety of style, and accessibility to your favorite drinks – it’s another spot to hang out with friends and family.

4.) Saturated colors

Saturated colors – your red, blue, and greens. When paired with the right neutral colors they really make a remarkable difference in a room.  Last year the color grey was huge.  This year, you very well could see the greys paired with some bright colors to bring a room to life!

5.) Marble:

Another timeless material.  Marble comes in tons of different color combinations, and can be used in a wide variety of areas throughout the home.  Counter-tops, flooring, & bathroom walls are some examples of places you may come across this luxurious material.
